Musk Seeks Up to $134 Billion from OpenAI Despite Having $700 Billion Fortune

Oakland: Elon Musk wants between $79 billion and $134 billion from OpenAI and Microsoft. He believes they tricked him by changing their original nonprofit goal. An expert named C. Paul Wazzan, who knows a lot about money matters, helped figure this out. He says Musk deserves a big share of OpenAI’s $500 billion worth because he gave $38 million when they started in 2015. That would mean Musk could gain about 3,500 times what he put in.

Wazzan looked at Musk’s money and what he brought to the team when OpenAI began. He thinks OpenAI wrongly gained $65.5 billion to $109.4 billion and Microsoft got $13.3 billion to $25.1 billion of that. Musk’s lawyers say he should be paid like any other early investor who should get lots of money back.

Musk is already the richest person in the world with around $700 billion. His wealth is much more than the second-richest, Larry Page, by about $500 billion. Recently, Tesla also gave Musk the biggest pay deal ever, worth $1 trillion.

So, asking for $134 billion from OpenAI wouldn’t add much to Musk’s huge wealth. OpenAI thinks this lawsuit is just harassment. They even told their investors that Musk will make some crazy claims as the case gets closer to trial in April. This trial will happen in Oakland, California, not far from San Francisco.
