Experts warn Amazon’s rumored smartphone could collect more personal data than ever before.

New York: People are talking about Amazon making a new phone. But some experts say this could be bad for your privacy. An Amazon phone would let the company collect more information about you.
Your phone goes everywhere with you. It can hear what you say and see where you go. Amazon could use this information to show you ads. They might also learn things about your health. Amazon already has a patent to tell if you are sick by listening to your voice.
Amazon could use a trick they use with TVs. They sell the Fire TV system to other TV makers. Then they collect data even though they did not make the TV. They might do something similar with phones. This would let them gather data without making the whole phone.
People still buy Amazon products even when they know about privacy problems. Most people care more about price and what the product can do. But Amazon would need to make a really good phone. The person in charge of this, Panos Panay, helped make Microsoft’s Surface computers popular. Now he needs to do the same thing for Amazon.
