Aiper Scuba V3 Pool Robot Review: Eye on the Prize.

The Aiper Scuba V3 uses an AI camera system to find and clean debris in swimming pools. The robot has two scheduling options for people who want to leave it in the pool. One option uses a calendar to run the robot at set times with three frequency levels: 90 minutes x 2, 60 minutes x 3, or 45 minutes x 4. The other option, called AI Navium mode, sounded like it would use the camera to check the pool and clean only when needed, but it actually just looked at past cleaning data and made a schedule based on that.

During tests, the Scuba V3 cleaned quickly and well. It usually finished in less than two hours, picking up all visible debris from the pool floor while also scrubbing the walls and waterline. The AI camera system worked as promised, finding even small pebbles that were thrown in the pool. After cleaning runs that lasted between 170 and 190 minutes each, the pool looked fully clean. With synthetic debris tests, the robot achieved a 96 percent cleanliness rating, missing only a few leaves in tricky corners.

The AI schedule mode did not work well during testing. After running the analyzer, the app suggested a confusing five-day schedule, then mostly ignored it. The robot ran cleaning cycles at random times, causing the battery to drain completely. Many people might not like the idea of leaving the robot in the pool all the time after seeing how unreliable the scheduling was.

When cleaning finished, the robot climbed to the waterline and sent a notification through the app. Users have only 10 minutes to reach it before it sinks back to the pool floor. The Scuba V3 cannot float, so it uses its last battery power to stay in place during that time. Cleaning the robot itself takes effort. While the filter basket has a big lid that makes it easy to access, and hosing everything down works well, the small mesh inside is hard to clean completely, so most users probably clean it as best they can without removing it.
