OpenAI pauses erotic chat mode as it refocuses on business and military contracts under growing competition

San Francisco: OpenAI stops work on a sexy chat mode for its ChatGPT robot for now. The company CEO Sam Altman first suggested the idea in October. But many people did not like it.
Some worried the robot might give bad advice about private things. The dirty talk mode got pushed back many times. Now it has no release date at all. OpenAI did not explain why it stopped.
This follows other big changes at OpenAI last week. The company also closed down instant checkout. That let people buy things through the chat robot. It also closed Sora, a tool that made fake videos. People said those videos flooded the internet with junk.
OpenAI wants to focus on serious work now. That means helping business people and computer programmers. Its main rival is Anthropic. That company keeps making new tools for coding and business. Both firms fight for big Pentagon deals. But OpenAI just won a $200 million contract with the U.S. military.
In short, OpenAI is leaving fun projects behind. Instead it wants to help with more serious things like war and business.
