Aetherflux, founded by Robinhood’s Baiju Bhatt, is raising $300M to build spacebased AI data centers in a strategic shift

San Francisco: Aetherflux is trying to raise $300 million for their Series B funding round. This money would value the company at $2 billion. The company started in 2024 by Baiju Bhatt, who also helped start Robinhood.
They want to build data centers in space instead of sending power to Earth with lasers. They noticed that putting computer chips in space could help run artificial intelligence better. Many space companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are now working on similar ideas.
The company is still going to test their laser power technology on a small satellite made by Apex Space. Their first data center satellite will launch in 2027. Bhatt wants their space computers to be as cheap as ones on Earth, but doing this will be very hard.
