Google just launched a free new app that lets you speak and get polished text — even without internet.

Google on Monday quietly released a new speech app called “Google AI Edge Eloquent” for iPhones. You can talk to your phone and see your words turn into clean text on the screen. Once you pause, the app removes “um” and “ah” sounds to make your writing sound neat.
The app gives you options like “Key points” or “Formal” to change how your writing looks. You can use it without the internet by turning off cloud mode. The app also learns your personal words if you connect it to Gmail or add your own terms.
The app keeps a history of your past talks so you can look back anytime. It shows you how fast you speak and how many words you’ve said. Google says the app helps make natural speech sound like professional writing by removing mistakes and extra words.
Right now it works only on iPhones, but Google says it will make an Android version too. The Android version will work as a keyboard that you can use anywhere on your phone. AI-powered apps like this are getting popular as speech-to-text technology keeps getting better.
