Google Maps Now Lets You Access Gemini Hands-Free While Walking and Cycling

New York: Google announced that Google Maps users can access Gemini hands-free while walking and cycling. This makes it easier to navigate without stopping. You can ask questions like “What are fun places nearby?” or “Is there a café on my route?”

Walking and typing can be tricky, so this update helps you stay on the move. For those cycling, you can still focus on the road while asking Gemini for your estimated arrival time or even to text someone.

You can ask multiple questions at once, like “Is there a cheap vegan restaurant close by?” This feature is now available worldwide for iOS and is being rolled out for Android.

The update also includes a “know before you go” tips section to help you find the best way to book a place or discover secret menu items. Plus, there’s a new Explore tab that makes finding nearby hot spots easier and an EV charger prediction feature to see charger availability at your destination.

This is all part of Google’s efforts to make Maps more helpful. Recently, they also added features for Chrome that improve AI use for web browsing.
