A16Z partner Kofi Ampadu is leaving the firm after leading the TxO program that supported underserved tech founders until its recent pause.

San Francisco:
Kofi Ampadu worked at the Andreessen Horowitz firm. He led a program called Talent x Opportunity. This program helped people start tech companies who normally could not get help. He left the company in January 2026.
The TxO program started in 2020. It gave money and help to people who had good ideas but no tech friends. Some people liked the program. Other people did not like how the money was given. The program stopped last November. Most workers lost their jobs then.
Ampadu wrote about why TxO was important. He said some schools and companies look at the wrong things. They forget about good people who take different paths. He thinks that needs to change. His last work group finished in March 2025.
Ampadu came to America when he was 11. He had trouble in school because people made wrong guesses about him. He used this to help others through TxO. He feels happy about the work done and ready for new things ahead.
