Aiper IrriSense 2: Setting up the watering area. You start by defining your yard boundaries using the sprinkler app.

The device sprays water while you use the app to mark the edges of your lawn. Think of it like drawing a circle around your grass. The company says it can water up to 4,800 square feet and reach 39 feet from the sprinkler.

Creating your yard map. The app shows your watering area being drawn in real time as you mark each section.

However, the system has trouble completing the full circle. When I tried it, there was always a small gap that wouldn’t close no matter how I adjusted it. This leftover sliver of yard stayed dry while the rest got watered.

How watering works in Area mode. Instead of running for a set time, you choose how much water to apply measured in inches for the soil depth.

The sprinkler sprays in one direction like a rotating fountain, going all the way around clockwise then turning back counter-clockwise. As it waters, the spray automatically gets weaker to avoid soaking the edges too much compared to the middle. Each cycle reduces pressure until the final rotations barely water a small circle right around the sprinkler base.
