M5 MacBook Air strikes perfect balance between power and portability with blazing fast speeds that satisfy most users perfectly
San Francisco: Apple’s new M5 MacBook Air brings just the right amount of everything. The two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left let you connect many screens and work like it’s a full office setup. These ports are so fast they make things load quicker than before. The new MacBook Air can read and write files at 6,740 megabytes per second, which is six times faster than older models. This means apps open faster and big files move quickly between places.
The left side only has ports which means you can’t charge from the right. This works great for people who use laptops all day at work. Other Windows computers try to compete but don’t match everything here. The Dell XPS 13 uses same chips and costs $850 but has dimmer screen. Very light Asus Zenbook A14 costs hundreds less but also has worse screen than MacBook Air.
Should you get last year’s M4 model instead? If you don’t use heavy apps then maybe not worth extra cost. Storage also changed – no 256 GB option now and all M5 start at 512 GB. Price difference between M4 and M5 with same storage is only about $50. Most people should still choose M5 MacBook Air because it works well for many years. This laptop balances power, size and cost in just the right way.
