Apple Music is adding new transparency tags to help users spot AI-generated music, letting distributors flag songs where AI was involved in creation.

Cupertino: Apple Music is changing how music companies can flag AI-made songs when they upload them. Apple told music companies about this new tagging system in a newsletter.
The new metadata tags will let companies show when AI was used in making music. Companies can pick if AI was in the artwork, music track, lyrics, or music video. This helps listeners know which parts of a song might use AI tools.
A person on Reddit shared an idea for similar AI tags just days ago. The problem is that these tags work only if music companies choose to use them. Spotify is trying something similar with optional AI tags.
Some music services like Deezer want to use computer programs to find AI music instead. But making computer programs that spot all AI music with no mistakes is quite hard. TechCrunch asked Apple for more details about this change.
