Tech leaders, defense contractors, and corporate execs gather at Palantir’s secretive conference where AI fuels both war strategy and commercial success

Mid-Atlantic: It’s a chilly March morning at a secret hotel where Palantir is holding its developer conference. Defense workers and company bosses are there. They thought it would be warmer, but cold rain turned to snow. People got heavy blankets, but everyone felt good because Palantir is doing well.
At the conference, I saw military leaders, company bosses, and tech experts. Palantir started in 2003 by helping the government but now works with big companies too. One leader said their company business grew 120 percent last year – much more than government work.
The company boss, Alex Karp, talked about war. He wore a nice coat and said they used to help companies make money. Now they help the military because America is fighting. He said they make tools to help war fighters be better than the
enemy.
