My review of the Delta Jacket: When I first saw the new Arc’teryx Delta Jacket, I wasn’t sure if I should include it in my guide. I like it as an ultralight middle layer for summer trips. But there is an older heavier version that many people loved. Some angry reviews on Arc’teryx’s website show how much they liked the old one. This new jacket is completely different.
Great for summer trips: This jacket is really good for summer hiking when you wear it with a sun hoodie. The Delta Jacket weighs 8.5 ounces and a sun hoodie like the one from Kuiu weighs about 6 ounces. Together they give you many ways to layer your clothes. They also weigh less than most popular grid fleece options. My only complaint is that nobody thought about fashion when they designed it. One person online said it looks like Mr. Rogers’ sweater. But that’s okay because it’s light and works well for hiking.
