HigherDose Red Light Shower Filter Earns Honest Mixed Review

New York: The HigherDose red light shower system lights up water with colored LEDs that glow for 5, 10 or 15 minutes at a time. A USB charger powers both the lights and the remote control that turns them on. I found the remote buttons confusing at first. But once I learned how they worked, the red glow created calm feelings in my morning shower.

Boston: The shower filter uses 10 different layers to clean water. Chemical tests showed it removed all chlorine from my home’s water for weeks. Most shower filters cannot fully remove chlorine. This makes the HigherDose filter very good at its main job. Layers include vitamin C vitamin E and activated carbon.

Baltimore: Company claims extend to filtering microplastics lead cadmium heavy metals and minerals. But tests on dissolved solids showed only small changes. Water had 26 total parts per million before passing through. It had 24 parts per million after. This matches normal results for shower filters.

Chicago: I measured effectiveness myself instead of trusting company claims about outside testing. Clear labeling would help users control the red lights better. The light shines mostly on my scalp and neck because I do not put my face directly in the water spray. HigherDose says to avoid looking straight at the bright red LEDs.
