Meta Will Keep Horizon Worlds Alive in VR ‘for the Foreseeable Future’

Meta’s headquarters: One day after Meta said it would close Horizon Worlds in virtual reality, the company’s technology leader Andrew Bosworth announced they would keep it running.

Horizon Worlds is a place where people can play games together in VR. Meta had planned to stop the VR version on June 15 but continue the app on phones. The company is investing less in VR projects and cutting jobs.

Bosworth says fans spoke up about wanting to keep using their games. People can still use their old games but cannot make new spaces. There will be no brand-new games or big updates coming.

The app will stay around for now so people can keep playing games they already like. Meta will also have new concerts in the app. An expert says this might not last forever since Meta still wants to save money.
