A new plug-in called Humanizer helps AI chatbots write more like humans using patterns from a Wikipedia guide.

The Wikipedia guide comes from WikiProject AI Cleanup. This group began helping since late 2023 to find and tag AI-written articles. French editor Ilyas Lebleu started this group, and they have reviewed over 500 articles. In August 2025, they published a list of common signs of AI writing.
Humanizer works by giving Claude a list of 24 language patterns. While it makes the AI’s writing sound more casual, it can also affect accuracy. For instance, it tells the AI to have opinions while writing. This approach might fit some tasks but could lead to errors, especially in technical writing.
Chen has noticed that certain phrases can make AI writing sound overly formal or promotional. For example, the guide mentions that chatbots often use flowery language. Humanizer aims to replace those phrases with simpler facts.
Despite its advantages, experts are cautious. Even though the Wikipedia guide is helpful, AI writing detection often fails. There’s no unique way to tell human writing apart from AI writing. Language models can adjust to avoid common patterns. So, while Humanizer can help, it has its limits.
