Normal: A man died at a Rivian warehouse in Illinois this week. His name was Kevin Lancaster. He was 61 years old.
The federal safety agency called OSHA is now investigating what happened. They think worker Kevin Lancaster died from injuries when he got pinned between a big truck and where trucks load things. This happened at a warehouse near Rivian’s main factory.
Emergency workers got to Lancaster about 20 minutes after it happened. They could not help him. He was dead at the medical center. Police and other investigators are still trying to learn more about his death.
Rivian makes trucks and electric vans at their big factory in Normal. Safety is very important there. They say they are working with police to find out what happened to Lancaster. Rivian told the safety agency that keeping workers safe is their most important job.
Rivian has tried to make their factory safer after problems in the past. They had some mistakes found by safety teams before. But they have fixed many of these problems. The company is now building more space at their factory to make new electric vehicles.
