Washington, DC: Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made new appointments to a group that studies autism, but many of the new members think vaccines cause autism. This goes against what most scientists say about autism.
Kennedy says he picked “the most qualified experts” to help with autism research. But some doctors and autism supporters worry this could lead to dangerous and unproven treatments. They think these appointments will take attention away from real help families need.
The new group includes people like Daniel Rossignol, who was sued for giving false treatments to sick children. Tracy Slepcevic practices “dear friend” of Kennedy who sells treatments like injecting animal cells into kids. Another member, Toby Rogers, says vaccines are “one of the greatest crimes in human history.” These are just some of the people Kennedy picked for this important job.
