Tubi, owned by Fox, launches Creatorverse Incubator with TikTok to support original series creation.
Tubi : The Fox-owned streaming service is teaming up with TikTok creators to make new shows for its platform. They call this the “Creatorverse Incubator.”
Tubi wants to give popular TikTokers help like money and promotion to make original series that people can watch only on Tubi. This new plan is similar to what Peacock did last year when they asked TikTok creators to make shows too.
Tubi already has more than 100 million people using it every month. The company wants these viewers to enjoy new shows made by their favorite TikTokers. They will let creators make different kinds of series, both scripted stories and unscripted real-life shows.
The first group of creators will be announced later this summer. Tubi has been building up its relationships with online creators for a while now. About 10 months ago they started bringing content from famous YouTubers like Mythical Entertainment to their service.
Right now Tubi has about 16,000 episodes from more than 200 different creators. The newest series is called “Terri Joe: Missionary in Miami” which features characters from TikTok named Terri Joe and Amethyst Jade.
Tubi doesn’t just work with creators. They also team up with websites like Kickstarter to show crowdfunded movies. They made another program called “Stubios” to help new filmmakers share their work.
Other big streaming services like HBO Max, Disney+, and Netflix usually just work with influencers to make excitement for shows they already made. Tubi is different because they let online personalities help make the actual content.
People are watching more of Tubi lately. New numbers show Tubi’s share of what people watch online went up from 2.2% to 6.2% in one year. They also started making money in 2024 which shows they are growing in a busy market.
