Wispr Flow debuts Android app enabling AI-powered voice-to-text dictation with real-time cleanup and translation.

San Francisco: AI-enabled dictation startup Wispr Flow has released its Android app today. The company first launched its app for Mac and Windows, then brought it to iOS in June 2025.
On Android, users can access the app through a floating bubble on their screen. They can hold the bubble to dictate or press once to begin and press a close button to finish. The app cleans up filter words and formats text based on the app and context—just like on other platforms—and also supports translation in over 100 languages. With this launch, Wispr Flow has improved its speed by 30% thanks to a rewrite of the app’s core infrastructure.
The company is one of the few AI dictation apps available on Android, besides Typeless, which launched last month. It has also introduced a new “Hinglish” model that blends Hindi and English for Indian users. The company’s co-founder Tanay Kothari said in a blog post that the model lets people speak in English and Hindi at the same time instead of using traditional Hindi script alone.
To date, Wispr Flow has raised $81 million in funding. Last June, Menlo Ventures led a $30 million investment in the startup. In November, Notable Capital led a $25 million follow-on round. Sources said the company’s last round valued it at $700 million. With its early Android rollout, over 1.3 million words have already been dictated within days, showing strong initial interest.
