Sebastiaan de With joins Apple’s design team, excited to work on favorite products after his time with Lux
New York: Sebastiaan de With, co-founder of Lux and maker of Halide, joined Apple’s design team. He worked at Apple before, creating features like iCloud and Find My. De With shared his excitement on X, saying he looks forward to collaborating with the best team on his favorite products.
His co-founder, Ben Sandofsky, stated that Lux will continue to develop Halide. Lux just launched a preview of Halide Mark III, focusing on “Looks” to mimic the feel of film cameras.
De With’s arrival comes as Apple faces changes in its design team. Apple’s new Liquid Glass design didn’t receive strong reviews, and the user interface design chief, Alan Dye, left for Meta. Additionally, John Ternus is now in charge of both hardware and software design, as he prepares for a potential future role as the successor to Tim Cook.
