New App SaySo Delivers Curated News with Trust and Context

New York: Many people use apps like TikTok and Instagram to find news, but some posts are not true or are made by computers, which makes it hard to trust what they see. To help with this problem, a new app called SaySo started this month. It shows short videos made by real people who check their facts.
When you first use SaySo, you pick topics you like such as politics, health, or crimes. The app shows you a set of videos each day that match your interests. These videos are only online for 20 hours before new ones come. This way you do not have to scroll forever looking for something good.
The people who make videos on SaySo must show where they got their information. The company checks every video before it is posted to make sure it is true. They also use both computer tools and real people to watch for bad content. Soon they will add a special way for users to help check facts together.
At first, about 30 creators joined the app. Some talk about stocks and politics, others share about fairness and justice, and one writes news stories for big magazines. The app pays these creators money and plans to give even more later when more people use it.
SaySo began in America and Canada but will expand to the U.K. soon. Its creators believe there should be a better way to get news so people can trust it again.
