Reid Hoffman calls on tech executives to actively oppose Trump instead of staying quiet as tensions rise between Silicon Valley and the White House

Hoffman wrote online that tech leaders must not “bend the knee” — which means obey — Trump. He said waiting quietly won’t stop Trump from hurting their businesses. Some other tech bosses like Vinod Khosla agree, calling Trump’s team a “heartless government.”
Big company CEOs like Apple’s Tim Cook said they were upset about the killings in private messages. But Hoffman says this isn’t enough because tech leaders have power they’re not using. Many tech companies work with the government on stuff like robot rules and computer deals, which makes speaking up hard.
Over 1,000 tech workers signed a paper asking bosses to cancel deals with ICE, the group that handles borders. While some leaders like Elon Musk still like Trump, others try to stay in the middle. Hoffman says staying neutral actually helps Trump, and tech leaders need to pick a side.
