Copenhagen:

In recent days, Danish consumers are fighting back against the U.S. This is after Trump made threats about controlling Greenland, a territory of Denmark. Two mobile apps are now very popular. These apps help people check if a product is made in America and find local options instead.

The Danish App Store is used in both Denmark and Greenland. Recently, many Danish people have started a grassroots effort to boycott American products. This includes canceling trips to the U.S. and stopping subscriptions to American streaming services like Netflix.

Two apps, NonUSA and Made O’Meter, have become very popular and are now in the top 10 of the App Store. NonUSA is now the number one app. It lets users scan product barcodes to see where they come from and suggests local Danish options. Before, NonUSA was ranked much lower.

The top places where people use this app are Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. The four countries are joining forces to boycott American products. Made O’Meter is the number five app on the App Store.

In the last week, both apps’ daily downloads have increased a lot, about 867%, compared to the week before. But keep in mind, the total downloads in the Danish App Store are much lower than in bigger markets like the U.S.

In Denmark, a few thousand downloads can quickly raise an app to the top. The daily downloads in Denmark’s iOS App Store are about 200,000 for all apps. Other popular apps in Denmark include travel apps and some U.S. services like Shop and ChatGPT.
