Trump demands Netflix fire Susan Rice or face consequences

Washington, DC: President Trump posted online that Netflix will “pay the consequences” if it doesn’t fire Susan Rice from its board of directors. Rice is a former ambassador to the United Nations who served in the Obama and Biden administrations.

Rice spoke on a podcast called “Stay Tuned with Preet” and said corporations that “take a knee” to Trump will be “held accountable” when Democrats regain power. She warned companies they can’t expect Democrats to forgive them for firing people or breaking policies.

Trump responded by saying Netflix should fire Rice immediately, calling her “racist” and a “political hack” with no talent or skills. He wrote that if Netflix doesn’t fire her, the company will face unspecified consequences. Trump also included a post from activist Laura Loomer about a Netflix-Warner Bros. merger.

The streaming company recently announced plans to buy Warner Bros, but this deal needs approval from federal regulators. Netflix’s co-CEO met with Trump before the announcement was made. Last fall, Trump similarly demanded Microsoft fire another official, Lisa Monaco, but she remains at Microsoft.
