AI-driven visits to US retailer sites surged 393% in Q1, converting better than regular customers and increasing revenue per visit significantly.

New York: AI visits to US stores’ websites went way up. In 2026’s first three months they were 393% higher than last year. People now use AI helpers to shop online.
Adobe looked at more than a trillion visits to stores’ websites. They also asked 5,000 people about using AI to shop. Thirty-nine percent of people said they use AI for shopping and 85% said it made shopping better.
An AI visitor buys things 42% more often than a regular person now. A year ago AI visitors bought things 38% less often than regular people. People coming from AI look at more pages and stay longer on websites.
Revenue from AI visitors is 37% higher than from regular visitors. Just 12 months ago it was the opposite way. Many stores have not made their pages easy for AI to read. Adobe says stores should fix this.
