Amazon’s CEO criticizes big tech rivals in annual letter amid heavy AI and infrastructure spending

Seattle: Amazon’s boss, Andy Jassy, wrote a letter to people who own part of the company. He talked about how Amazon is making computer chips called Trainium. These chips are used for AI and they are selling very fast. He says Trainium chips are almost completely sold out even for versions not ready for 18 months.
Jassy also talked about Graviton, another chip Amazon makes. These are used instead of Intel chips. He says 98 out of 100 top customers now use Graviton. Some companies even asked Amazon to let them use all the Graviton chips Amazon has in 2026.
The company is building a big project called Amazon Leo, which will use satellites. This is like a competitor to Starlink. Amazon already has deals with big companies like Delta Airlines and NASA. Jassy thinks this project will start in the middle of 2026.
Amazon wants to spend about $200 billion this year to build things like computer centers. That is more money than any other big tech company. Jassy talks about why they are spending so much and says Amazon will keep building its business in many areas.
