A British energy company says hackers took £700000 by changing routing details for a contractor payment. The company is working with banks to recover the funds.

Riverside, California: A British energy company called Zephyr Energy says hackers took £700000 (almost \$1 million) from one of its U.S. companies. The hackers changed some numbers when money was sent to a worker.
The company told people in London about the problem on Thursday. They are working with banks and experts to try and get the money back.
Hackers often break into email or payment systems. They change bank account numbers so money goes into their accounts instead. These are called business email compromise attacks. The FBI says these attacks cost people more than \$3 billion in 2025.
Zephyr Energy says their problem is fixed now. The company uses normal safety steps for their computer systems but has added extra protection since the attack happened. Zephyr did not say how they will stop this from happening again.
